Why You Should Start a Vending Business in 2015 as Your Big Change

Posted by Makayla Seger - Dec 29, 2014 12:50:24 PM

Find me on:

The ball is about to drop and close out 2014.

Around the office, we're quite fond of recapping our year with each other. A lot happened here at Naturals2Go Healthy Vending, as did a lot in our world. What about in your life?

Inevitably, we move from recapping our year to setting goals for next year. Rather than stop a bad habit, join the gym, and obtain nirvana, we wanted to share some different thoughts - our ideas for what we think you'll want to change in 2015.

What kind of change can you get when you start a vending business?

167626995Change is defined differently by just about everyone. For many, change is something you can see or feel. For others, the simple ideal of change is enough to suit an appropriate definition. We like to think of the change we're talking about as something built around our own behaviors. Behaviors can change the way we look, the way we feel, and the way we think, so it works well to envelop just about anyone else's definition.

With that in mind, here are three things (we think) you'll want to change in 2015, and how starting a vending business can help you make these changes real.

1. Confusing movement with progress

Hey, we've all been there. Whether you think of this as wearing too many hats, juggling too many balls, or spinning too many plates, the idea is the same: there's too much going on to really get anything accomplished. We waste incredible amounts of time by staying busy for the sake of being busy, and see our exhaustion at the end of the day as evidence that we're progressing in some sort of a direction.

Starting a business is never an easy task, but it can certainly be a liberating one. Venturing out on a new path often forces us to make change by putting aside the things that keep us moving without helping us progress. Some business ventures can take up a lot of time, and they'll require you to put down just about everything you have up in the air. When you start a healthy vending business, this isn't the case at all. Many of our operators are successful with their vending business being an additive part of their income. Filling vending machines once or twice a month takes some effort, but not nearly as much as other businesses. This lets you keep doing the things you've been doing (that are positive and helpful) while building something new that you'll know progresses your goals.

2. Not wiping the slate clean every so often

Any chef will tell you: until you cleanse your palate, you'll never be able to truly appreciate the flavor of your next bite. Starting a new business - full time or part time - is a great way to cleanse your work palate so that you can start appreciating what's ahead of you. This doesn't always mean that you have to quit your job and start out against an unblazed trail - simply starting a new revenue stream that is additive to your current income can be an invigorating project that really helps you re-examine everything else on your plate.

3. Building something worth talking about

Life isn't always chocked full of ribbons, trophies, and medals. We get in lulls that can be quite difficult to get away from, and it often leaves us with little motivation to change anything important.

If you're really honest, you probably have the same opinion of the vending industry that most others have: none whatsoever. The vending industry has been around for a very long time, but it's not one that we ever really see. For those of us who have started our own vending businesses, it's something fun that makes us quite unique. As you talk to some of our vending operators, you'll find a group of interesting people with great stories about things that most folks never hear about. When you get into our business, you'll find a lot of new things worth talking about.

So what's the next step?

This one's up to you. However you get started on your change for 2015, know that we're right there with you. It takes a lot of effort and a lot of support to actually make change happen. If your change includes starting a new career or even just adding in a new revenue stream, we're here to help.
